Tiago Pietarch has made the most of the international break by featuring for Real Madrid Castilla and the Spain U20 national team, reaffirming his abilities and boosting his chances of returning to the first team under José Mourinho.
The player had been sidelined for 73 days without getting any minutes with the first team.
According to AS, his participation with Castilla was coordinated between the club and Mourinho to regain match rhythm instead of just training at Valdebebas during the break. He performed well, providing an assist against Sant Andreu and then scoring with the Spain U20 team against Mexico.
He had standout moments in the Castilla derby against Atlético, where he delivered an impressive performance, moved into advanced areas of the pitch, and appeared more influential by leading many aspects of the play.
According to "AS", Mourinho watched Pietarch shine against Atlético from the stands with Castilla and wants him back in the first team after the break, in preparation for the match against Villarreal on October 10.
The Portuguese coach had previously halted the player's transfer to Fulham, and it seems that recent performances have strengthened his belief that the young player has the ability to compete with the first team.
