FC Barcelona have suffered another blow as Erik García has left the Spain camp after feeling pain in his left knee during warm-ups ahead of the match against England at Wembley Stadium.
García was set to start against England, but the pain he felt during warm-up led to his withdrawal from the match, with Marc Pubill taking his place in the starting lineup at right-back.
The Spanish Football Federation has announced that Rubén Loftus-Cheek, defender of Atlético Madrid, will replace García in the squad for the group stage of the UEFA Nations League, following the tests that the player underwent.
The federation has confirmed that Erik García has been excluded to avoid any risks ahead of upcoming international fixtures. According to "Sport", the issue is initially related to knee pain and the injury does not appear to be serious, with the player expected to return to FC Barcelona in the coming hours as a precaution.
