Esperance Tunis has issued an official statement addressing its fans ahead of the upcoming match against Al-Suwaihly from Libya, which is part of the first leg of the second preliminary round of the CAF Champions League, scheduled for October 18.

The Tunisian club announced in its statement that it rejected the number of tickets allocated to its fans by the Libyan host team, despite it being in accordance with the regulations of the Confederation of African Football. It emphasized that the specified allocation does not match the size of Esperance Tunis's fanbase and does not ensure equal opportunities for them to attend the match.

Esperance Tunis has explained that its decision comes in light of the limited capacity of the Misrata Stadium, noting that the allocated number of tickets does not meet the needs of its supporters who are accustomed to supporting the team during its continental travels.

In a related context, the Tunisian club emphasized that it does not bear responsibility for the travel of any of its fans to Libya to attend the match, whether through travel agencies or individually, confirming that any trip of this kind is the responsibility of those who undertake it and the organizing parties.

Esperance Tunis has called on its fans to adhere to the statement and take the warnings contained within it into consideration, reiterating its commitment to defending the rights of its supporters and ensuring the principle of equality among them.

Esperance Tunis prepares for the second preliminary round after being exempted by the Confederation of African Football from participating in the first round. Meanwhile, Al-Suwaihli from Libya reached the same stage after overcoming the champion of Zanzibar.

These developments come ahead of an anticipated clash between the two teams, with Esperance Tunis aiming for a positive result away from home to secure qualification in the return leg.
