FC Porto have reached an agreement to sign English defender Chris Smalling on a free transfer, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Romano wrote: "FC Porto has reached an agreement to sign Chris Smalling, the deal is done," explaining that the English defender will join the Portuguese team after leaving Al-Fayha FC.
Chris Smalling is currently undergoing medical examinations in Portugal ahead of his transfer to FC Porto.
Chris Smalling is 36 years old and has spent the last two seasons with Al-Fayha FC, after having notable years in Europe with Manchester United and Roma, before becoming a free agent since July 2026.
