Harry Kane, the England captain and Bayern Munich forward, has verbally agreed to extend his contract with the German club until 2029, according to the Daily Mail, in a move that brings him closer to continuing with the German champions in the coming years.

Harry Kane is enjoying a prolific scoring period, having netted 50 goals this calendar year, making him a top contender for the Ballon d'Or. He has also attracted the interest of major European clubs, including Barcelona, who have been monitoring his situation before he decides on his future with Bayern Munich.

The report added that Bayern Munich's management is currently preparing the necessary paperwork to formalize the new agreement, which will extend for an additional three years, keeping the English forward at the club until 2029, when he will be 36 years old.

Harry Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham in the summer of 2023 for around £100 million, signing a four-year contract at the time. The player stated last May that he was not concerned about his future, adding: "Now is not the right time to talk about that, but there is no need to worry. We wanted to postpone discussions until the end of the season, and we still have the FIFA World Cup to play."

Harry Kane continues to break records with his club and country, matching Peter Shilton's record by reaching 125 international appearances for England during the recent international break. He also became the fastest player to reach 100 goals in Bundesliga history, achieving this in just 98 matches, and scored 55 goals in his first 50 matches in the competition.

Harry Kane has won the Bundesliga title twice with Bayern Munich, along with two DFB-Pokal titles and two DFL-Supercup titles. However, details regarding the salary or financial terms of the new contract have not yet been disclosed.
