Manchester United has made the decision not to sign English striker Liam Delap from Chelsea during the current summer transfer window, despite the player's representatives contacting the club to discuss the possibility of completing the deal.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester United's management does not intend to enter the race to sign Delap, having previously attempted to acquire him in the summer of 2025 when he was a player at Ipswich Town, before he moved to Chelsea.
The report indicated that Delap has not delivered the expected season with Chelsea, having scored two goals and provided four assists in 41 matches. Coach Xabi Alonso has informed him of the possibility of leaving this summer.
Despite the exclusion of the Delap deal, Manchester United continues to search for a new striker, especially with the possibility of Joshua Zirkzee's departure and Juventus's interest in signing him.
The source added that the club is keeping an eye on the situation of Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic, who has become a free agent following the end of his contract with Juventus, alongside Ollie Watkins, the Aston Villa forward.
The report indicates that acquiring Watkins appears more complicated, given Aston Villa's insistence on retaining their striker and their high financial demands for any potential deal.
