Al-Nassr Club of Saudi Arabia was placed in Group D during the draw for the AFC Champions League 2, which took place this Friday morning, after the team finished third in the Roshan League standings last season.
Al-Nassr is in the first tier of the continental tournament, alongside Al-Wasl from the UAE, Al-Ahli from Qatar, and Sepahan from Iran, according to the official ranking of the participating teams.
Group D, where Al-Nassr is placed, includes Al-Zawraa from Iraq, Istiklol from Tajikistan, and Mohun Bagan from India, making the matchups strong and balanced during the first round of the tournament.
As for the other groups in the Western region, Group A consists of Al-Wasl from the UAE, Esteghlal from Iran, Al-Muharraq from Bahrain, and Al-Wehdat from Jordan, while Group B includes Al-Ahli from Qatar, Andijon from Uzbekistan, Arkadag from Turkmenistan, and Al-Khalidiya from Bahrain.
Group C includes Sepahan from Iran, Al-Hussein from Jordan, Mohun Bagan from India, and Ahal from Turkmenistan, and Al-Nassr will face one of the teams from this group in the second round if they qualify from their Group D.
