The Spanish Football Federation has decided to punish Rayo Vallecano with a fine of €6,000, along with a partial closure of the Vallecas Stadium during the match against Elche on October 24, as part of the Spanish league competition, following the incidents that took place during the team's match against Athletic Bilbao.

The punishment came after Rayo Vallecano fans threw paper airplanes and rubber balls onto the pitch in protest against club owner Raúl Martín Presa, which led to the match being stopped in the 13th minute. A decision was made to abandon the game entirely after the events were repeated and it became impossible to continue.

Tensions have escalated between fans and the club's management recently due to accusations of neglecting the stadium facilities and training complex, amid repeated criticisms of the conditions within the club. Previously, safety and maintenance issues had sparked widespread controversy surrounding the Estadio de Vallecas.

The Spanish Football Federation has warned the club of the possibility of closing the stadium entirely if such events recur, while the fate of the postponed match against Athletic Bilbao and the date for its completion is still awaiting a final decision from the relevant authorities.
