Tijjani Reijnders, the Dutch midfielder of Al-Qadsiah, has spoken candidly about the financial aspect behind his move from Manchester City to the Saudi Pro League, confirming that the deal has given him the opportunity to secure his family's future for many years.
Reijnders said: "When I retire from football, I won't have to work again. Of course, I probably didn't need to work after my contract with Manchester City ended either, but my move to the Saudi Pro League has allowed me to secure the future of the next generations of my family."
Al-Qadsiah player added: "I will not lie about that. By signing this contract, I have secured financial stability even for my grandchildren, so why would I refuse it?".
Reijnders has joined Al-Qadsiah from Manchester City during the summer transfer window, on a contract that extends for five seasons, in a deal that makes him one of the standout signings for the team for the new season.
The Dutch player confirmed that financial aspects were one of the factors he considered when deciding to move to the Saudi Pro League, alongside his desire to experience something new and continue his career with Al-Qadsiah.
