Spanish club Racing Santander announced on Wednesday the official signing of Moroccan international Yassir Zebiri, arriving on loan from Stade Rennais, to strengthen the squad for the 2026-2027 season.
The Spanish club stated in an official announcement that the agreement with Stade Rennais sees the Moroccan forward joining Racing Santander until June 30, 2027, marking a new chapter in his professional career in Spanish football.
Zbeiri arrives at the Spanish team after his impressive performances with the Moroccan U20 national team, where he played a key role in leading the "Atlas Cubs" to victory in the 2025 Africa U20 Cup of Nations. He was also awarded the Silver Ball after being named the tournament's second-best player.
The 21-year-old forward is one of the most prominent graduates of the Mohammed VI Football Academy, before starting his professional career with Union Touarga. He then had a stint in the Portuguese league with Famalicão, before moving to Stade Rennais in France during the last winter transfer window.
Throughout his career so far, Zbeiri has played 37 official matches in the Moroccan, Portuguese, and French leagues, continuing his remarkable development, which has opened the doors to the Moroccan national team.
The player made his first appearance in the "Atlas Lions" jersey on May 26, when he participated in the match between the Moroccan national team and their Burundian counterparts, adding another step to his international career, which continues to progress steadily.
