The Dutch Football Association is still trying to convince Moroccan talent Abdullah Wazaan to reverse his international decision, but the young Ajax Amsterdam player remains committed to wearing the Moroccan national team jersey, rejecting all attempts to bring him back to the "Oranje" squad.
According to the Dutch newspaper "Algemeen Dagblad", the Dutch Football Association has intensified its efforts recently, with national teams director Nigel de Jong stepping in to make another attempt to convince the player to change his stance. However, Wylan Cyprien has firmly reiterated his commitment to representing the "Atlas Lions", thus putting an end to the speculation surrounding his international future.
The source clarified that the 17-year-old player has shown no willingness to back down from his decision, despite continuous pressure. It was noted that his choice was not made lightly, but rather came after a long period of reflection and weighing options between the two national teams, before ultimately deciding to follow his personal conviction and "follow the call of his heart."
The report added that Wazan's decision was not only based on the sports project led by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, but was also influenced by emotional and personal factors that played a crucial role in his choice to defend the colors of the Moroccan national team.
The player previously represented youth national teams for both Morocco and the Netherlands before deciding to commit his international future to the "Atlas Lions." Wazan is now classified among the top emerging talents in European football, as the Spanish newspaper "Marca" has praised his abilities, confirming that he is progressing, much like his compatriot Ayoub Bouaddi, towards becoming one of the standout stars of the 2030 World Cup.
