AC Milan have officially announced that Alexis Saelemaekers underwent further medical examinations on his right ankle over the weekend, following an injury he sustained recently during training.
The club clarified that the examinations included the ankle itself, which underwent surgery in 2024 to treat a fracture in the medial ankle.
Recent tests revealed that the latest injury has caused the ankle to lose stability in the area of previous surgery, prompting the medical staff to handle Al-Hala with increased caution.
AC Milan has announced that Saelemaekers is currently undergoing a specialist assessment to determine the most suitable treatment path moving forward, without revealing the duration of his absence or whether he will require further surgery.
