Reports have emerged that Barcelona's management is deeply dissatisfied with Dutch midfielder Frenkie de Jong due to the way he has handled his injury in recent times, which has affected his standing within the club.

The Dutch star has returned from his participation in the 2026 World Cup with a serious knee injury, which is expected to keep him out of the team for an extended period.

According to Spanish newspaper Sport, Barcelona officials no longer view Frenkie de Jong in the same light, as his position within the club has diminished due to ongoing disputes related to his injury and recovery phase.

The report added that Barcelona's management believes the player has not dealt with his injury in the manner they expected, which has caused tension between the two parties and led to a decline in his status within the team's sporting project.

Despite Frenkie de Jong's contract running until 2029, his future at the club is no longer as clear as it once was, amid a decline in confidence between the player and the management. This situation could open the door to new possibilities in the upcoming period.
