Manchester United and Chelsea are set to closely monitor Galatasaray midfielder Alexey Patrakov during the Turkish team's match against FC Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

According to Turkish network 'Sporx', the two English clubs plan to send scouts to the match to monitor the 21-year-old Russian player and assess his level before taking any potential steps regarding a contract.

Patrakov has joined Galatasaray from Lokomotiv Moscow for €25 million, after English clubs were unable to complete a deal for him earlier due to sanctions imposed on Russian clubs.

Manchester United and Chelsea are monitoring the player amid growing interest in his talent, as the match against FC Barcelona will be another opportunity for Patrakov to showcase his abilities in front of one of Europe's top clubs, with scouts from both English clubs in attendance.
