AS Roma has officially announced the signing of Greek defender Konstantinos Koutlierakis from German club Wolfsburg, as part of their efforts to bolster the backline ahead of the new season. The player has signed a contract that runs until June 30, 2031, after successfully passing his medical examinations.
According to the official statement and Italian reports, the transfer fee reached €16.5 million as a fixed amount, plus an additional €1.5 million in performance-related bonuses. Wolfsburg has retained 20% of the value of any future sale of the player as part of the agreement between the two clubs.
Kolierakis, 21, is one of the most promising young defenders in Europe, having made a name for himself at PAOK Thessaloniki before moving to Wolfsburg. He has established himself in the Greek national team thanks to his physical strength and ability to build play from the back. Roma's management sees him as a future investment and an important option to strengthen the team's defensive setup.
Roma has expressed its happiness at completing the transfer, wishing the player success in his new experience wearing the "Giallorossi" shirt. Meanwhile, Kolierakis begins his preparations to join the team's training ahead of the new season's competitions.
