According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Yawm, communications between the two clubs are showing notable progress, with a mutual desire to reach a final agreement that will determine the future of the player, who is considered one of Al-Ittihad's key targets in the current transfer window.
The report added that the Saudi club's management has made an offer worth €10 million, proposing to pay the amount in two installments, in an attempt to finalize the deal in the coming days and ensure the player's arrival before the competitions begin.
In contrast, Al Ahly's management has maintained its financial stance, rejecting the offer in its current form, insisting on receiving the full transfer fee of €10 million in one payment in exchange for agreeing to Imam Ashour's departure.
The report clarified that union officials have requested an extension to study Al Ahly's request before providing their final response, as negotiations between the two parties continue to find a solution that satisfies all involved.
The Union's moves come as part of the management's plan to strengthen the team with several quality signings, based on the vision of the coaching staff, which aims to bolster multiple positions before the start of the new season.
