Bayer Leverkusen has announced that new signing Kenit Ishhorn (17) will be unavailable for the team in the upcoming period after being diagnosed with a metabolic disorder that requires treatment.
The club explained that the metabolic disturbance came after significant physical strain and excessive weight loss following the player's illness related to the digestive system.
Bayer Leverkusen's sporting director, Simon Rolfes, stated: "Kenit has a long journey ahead of him at the highest level, and we will support him in the best possible way on this path. The most important thing right now is that we have started the right procedures for his recovery, and that Kenit can take the necessary time and rest for his treatment without pressure."
Ischhorn is set to begin his treatment program at a specialized facility, while Bayer Leverkusen has not disclosed the expected duration of his absence from the pitch.
